Originating in the Chinese Fujian province, Silver Needle is one of the most prized and well-known white teas. Chinese Silver Needle tea consists of the most tender leaves possible; the single buds are plucked after they fully develop, but before they open. Beautifully shaped buds are covered with white down, and, when infused, produce a beautiful pale yellow liquor that carries an extraordinarily sweet, fresh fragrance with a trace of citrus. White tea has high concentrations of polyphenols, which have been linked to cancer prevention.
